Join the Midlands Branch of the Michaelhouse Old Boys’ Club for an inspiring fireside conversation as we explore the remarkable paths taken by several Old Boys whose lives and careers have been shaped by the great outdoors.
We are delighted to welcome Al Yeowart (Farfield, 1990), Chris Pearson (Baines, 1992), and current parent Steve Fly, who will share stories from their diverse professional journeys across conservation, wilderness guiding, adventure tourism, and environmental management. Their experiences span some of the most iconic landscapes in South Africa and beyond, offering insight into both the exhilaration and the challenges of working in wild and remote spaces.
From encounters with wildlife to the realities of modern conservation, and from personal turning points to lessons forged in the field, this promises to be a wide-ranging and deeply engaging discussion. We may even have one or two surprise guests joining the panel, adding further richness to the evening.
Enjoy plentiful snacks included with your ticket, along with a cash bar for refreshments.
Whether you are passionate about the outdoors, curious about conservation, or simply keen to reconnect with the Michaelhouse community, this is an evening not to be missed.
This is very much a family friendly event - guests, of all ages, most welcome!
